VUT ITS student portal is the student portal of the Vaal University of Technology, it’s the portal that enables students to apply, register, get academic records, change personal information, and other information, and make payments.

Fact about Vaal University of Technology:

It’s one of the largest residential universities in South Africa with about 25,000 students, five campuses, and 300 programs, all primarily taught in English. The campus is conducive to sports, recreation, learning, community service, art, and culture.

The four campuses are Kempton park, Klerksdorp, Secunda, and Upington.

 

About Vaal University of Technology

In the 1996 Vaal University of Technology was established, it’s the only contact university that’s situated on the Southern tip of Gauteng. It celebrated its 50 years of technical education in 2016 and ever since its opening, it has produced leaders in both the public and private sectors. It has four faculties that offer courses in Human sciences, Applied and Computer sciences, Management Science, and Engineering and Technology. It offers industry-tailored academic programs, it has three sites of delivery spread across three provinces (Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and Northern cape) with its main campus situated in a place called Vanderbijlpark. The Vaal University of Technology is said to have students from 29 countries of the world, its satellite campuses specialize in fields that are relevant to specific areas. It’s the only university in South Africa that offers Non-destructive Testing and the only university that fully owns a Science and Technology Park, it’s located at Sebokeng, south of Gauteng. Login Guide

To login into VUT here are the procedures to follow:

  1. Click or search this link https://vut.ac.za/its on your browser, it will take you to the login page
  2. When you have login, select the word “Student”
  3. After that, you will see a box for student number and pin, fill in your details correctly

The default pin is 15839

Online Course Registration Guide

As a new or current student, you can have access to the self-service student iEnabler system on campus or on your personal computer at home.

These are the steps on how to register online:

  1. Login into VUT ITS Student Self-Help iEnabler
  2. Type in your Student Number and correct your Pin
  3. Move to Web Registration under Student iEnabler
  4. Read and understand the descriptions
  5. Tap on Rules and Regulations, then read and click “I accept”

Note: Before you go further accepting the rules and regulations is mandatory, therefore failure to do so will result in you getting error messages when you attempt to register for your courses. These error messages will continue to appear until you go back and click “I accept” for the rules and regulations.

  1. Click on “Submit Registration” to get the name, courses, and programs, that you want to register to appear
  2. Choose the courses you will be offering that particular semester when selecting have in mind that some courses are compulsory while some are elective
  3. Go down to click on save and continue
  4. Choose to continue from the newly opened page
  5. Crosscheck the summary courses you have selected then click “Accept Registration”
  6. Click on Proof of Registration, that’s PDF then click on the document
  7. Download the file and print it out into two copies, keep one for yourself and one for your department for endorsement.

 

Integrator Production

Integrator Tertiary Software is the Softwater that allows VUT staff to have access to and perform multiple different functions.

The Definition of iEnabler:

The tertiary system of the Vaal University of Technology enables staff and students to have access to information and perform functions online. The staff of the school will be able to log in and leave, lectures of the school can use it to manage student class lists online, and student can see their academic records online, their financial statement, and Timetable. It also helps applicants of the school to make applications online in order to become VUT students.

 

Password Reset Guide

Are you having a problem with logging in in case of a forgotten password or do you want to change your password? Well, say no more, cause here is a guide that will teach how to get a new Pin or get back your student account.

  1. Tap the ITS iEnabler Link (Go to the VUT login page).
  2. Type in your student number
  3. Tap on “Request A Pin”.
  4. Your Pin will be sent to your VUT email account. To check your email account click “here”.
  5. Enter your email using your student number as your username and your complete date of birth as your Password, for example (dd/mm/yyyy).
  6. Navigate to the portal and use the PIN in your email to login.

 

General Admission Requirements

The least entrance requirement that’s needed for admission to studies at the Vaal University of Technology is a Senior Certificate or a qualification equivalent to it. You must at least pass one of the Languages of instruction (English) of the university of Standard grade (SG) or Higher grade (HG).

In the situation where an applicant offers an N3 qualification as his or her requirements for entrance into the school, then the certificate should consist of at least four subjects, plus pass marks in two different languages, where one of the languages must be English, at least at Senior Certificate level (SG).

This is the general school requirement then additional requirements are stated for each instructional program or course. Students who this may concern must please note that in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Applied and Computer sciences, the minimum symbol that is required of their Mathematics, Physical Science, and in some cases in English, should be either Standard grade (SG) which is C in some cases or Higher grade (HG) which is E in some cases.

In other Faculties or departments depending on the course you want to enroll in, the average recommended subjects are: Accounting, Business Economics, Biology, Typing, Mathematics, Home Economics, Art, Clothing, Physical Science, Economics, and Needlework.

Degree courses: requirements for Admission regarding post diplomas and degree studies are available on request.

All applications will be given out based on merit by the department concerned. An applicant that’s up to 23 years of age can apply for conditional admission.

These are the following things theĀ  Application of the Candidate must be Accompanied with

  • Certificate indicating formal qualifications
  • Recommendation from the former applicant’s employer, saying that he or she is capable or has the necessary experience and communication abilities to complete the nominated instructional program successfully.
  • If an application is not fully approved or conditionally approved, the candidate shall only be admitted to the second semester or second year of study given that the first semester or first-year course has been completed successfully.

International Applicants Requirements

South Africa Qualification Authorities are the authorities that evaluate Non-South African Certificates. When submitting your certificate as a non-South African you must submit this application

The date that submission of the application form will end.

If the registration date was on January the closing date will be on 31st October.

If you fail to submit a valid permit (write a good reason about why you submitted on the last day of Registration) you will lose your admission and even the money you paid till date.

Late application form will not and cannot be accepted or processed.

Candidates will be selected based on their points obtained, according to the schools point rating schedule (from High score to Low score), together with bonus points and limitations as added.

Applicants can apply using the application form (hard copy) or they can apply using online, first of all you must make sure that you reach the admission requirements of the programme you chose.

Also note that not all programs are available at every campus, so you have to check the programs that are on the campuses of your choice before choosing them.

Application Fee Payment

In the case of applications submitted by mail, payments are to be made in the bank, apart from a bank deposit there are no other means of payment. For reference, use your ID Number. For the case, of postal orders or bank-guaranteed cheques, it must be made out to the Vaal University of Technology. No money in form of cash should follow your application form cause it’s not accepted.

The fee varies annually so before any payment calls the admissions office first to confirm the correct amount.
